Time and gain we’ve seen president Trump take some sort of action that the hapless media either doesn’t understand at all or by hyping it as a win for the liberals and a loss for Trump they eventually hand a “uge” victory to the president.
The 3 week extension might just be one of those patented Trump chess moves that will leave the MSM’s collective head’s spinning and Nancy Pelosi’s chin dripping more drool than normal.
It’s very possible, in fact probable, that Trump will use that stone to kill nut just the proverbial two birds with one stone but being Trump he’ll get three.
- The Wall
- Ruth Bader Ginsburg
- DACA
Let’s address the wall first.
The MSM and the Democrats had pretty much a free run lying to the nation that there is “no crisis” at the border. We even had Jim Acosta show us how safe the border is behind a wall and next to the largest Border Patrol station on the Southern border.
All that is about to come to a sudden and very visible halt!
The latest “migrant caravan” numbering, we are told, about 12,000 members is now crossing Mexico’s Southern and heading towards our Southern border – ETA about 2 weeks or so. Right behind them there’s a new caravan that’s shaping up with a departure date set for early February.
Sure the media will be out there in force telling us that there are only women and children in the caravan but reality will come crashing down on them just as it has done in the past.
Against the backdrop of tens of thousands of migrants rushing the border the MSM’s “no crisis at the border” cry will be exposed as “fake news” to most of the nation.
President Trump will have the catalyst he needs to declare what is obviously a very real NATIONAL EMERGENCY and thus build the wall.
Second, Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Of course the left will do what they always do, which is run to their activist courts to try to stop President Trump from protecting the nation’s borders. Globalists hate nothing more than walls. Sure the case will eventually end up in the 9th Circuit Court and unless lighting strikes and the 9th “Circus” agrees with the President, the case it will go to the Supreme Court.
President Trump is confident that he will win this battle as the Constitution is quite clear on this particular presidential power and the court make up is a little more fair now than it was before.
That however is only half the story. The other more important part is the situation with the ailing justice Ginsburg. Justice Ginsburg is, we are told , at home recovering from her cancer treatment and is doing well. We certainly hope so and we wish her a speedy recovery. But what if the official line is more optimistic than reality? What if justice Ginsburg’s health hasn’t recovered as much as the media is telling us and what if she is not well enough to be able to hear such an important case? If that happens then president Trump will a) get an easy win, and b) have another court vacancy to fill!
If you think the MSM is suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome now just wait to see happens to them then.
Finally let’s look at DACA
It’s evident that the Democrats didn’t learn much from the last time that President Trump dangeled that carrot in their collective faces.
The first time President Trump offered the Democrats DACA amnesty in exchange for wall funding they said no (and many conservatives became apoplectic.) Knowing that the Democrats won’t budge president Trump upped the ante more than doubling the number of DACA members that he was willing to allow to remain in the country from the 800,000 that the Democrats asked for to 1,800,0000. Still the Democrats did nothing thus incurring the ire of many in the DACA community.
If the Democrats refuse to negotiate and provide funding for the wall then President Trump will pretty much have full control of the very polarizing DACA issue. Ponder that for a minute! President Trump will have the Democrats on the record as having thrown DACA under the bus for the sake of Globalism for the second time in as many years !!
No one knows what President Trump will do if and when that comes to pass but a number of scenarios can be envisaged all of them god for the President and bad for the democrats. He can of course refuse to extend any protection to DACA but that’s probably not going to happen. He can also give protection to some DACA members based on some sort of merit based program, exactly the kind that he proposes for other immigration programs. Of course he can allow 1,800,000 Dreamers to remain in the country. That will probably make President Trump the more popular with the Latino community than any president ever!
Either way he will be in the driver’s seat and the Democrats will be taken for a ride that will make their collective heads spin.
While the MSM and the clueless Democrats celebrate what they think is a victory time may prove that this is yet another in the seemingly endless series of traps that President Trump has successfully set for his opponents. If the President plays his cards right, and we have no reason to think he’ll do otherwise, he will be able to parlay an apparent defeat into a victory that will change the nation for the better for many decades to come.
