Congress cancels the ” Our Cash for Their Jets Program.”
Well not quite, you see this is the classic Potomac Two Step. Pelosi and Reid wanted to buy five brand spanking new Boeing 737’s. so that Pelosi doesn’t have to spend her billionaire husband’s money to shuttle back and forth from San Fransicko to DC.- why should she when she can just spend your money instead?
So how to shove this needless waste of funds down the Public’s throat? Why very simple of course. Just resort to the classic liberal tactics. Prior to leaving DC to head for their districts where they can unleash union thugs upon their constituents, congress had approved the purchase of not five but eight jets: three Gulfstream jets and five military versions of a Boeing 737 for a total cost of $550 million. The three Jets would have been the the Air Force version of the Gulfstream V, each costing $66 million, according to the Department of Defense. After the public outcry congress graciously agreed to drop the order for the threee Gulfstreem V executive jets -ain’t that just swell of them?
The thing is that we have no idea how the remaining five Boeing 737s will be outfitted or used. No one will follow this up and no one will care anymore. You see that’s the Potomac Two Step. Will the jets be outfitted with the latest electronics and be used as reconnaissance aircraft in service of nation or will they be fitted with Pelosi specified powder rooms and Botox stations? Good luck finding that out! So lets just cal it a victory and leave it at that.
