In many ways the black community in the US reminds me very much of the Israel’s Palestinians. No I’m not talking about the rampant crime or unemployment I am talking about their uncanny ability to somehow always pass up an opportunity to shine!
I intentionally delayed writing this post in the hope that I would never have to write it but alas as the days and weeks pass it looks like the black community in the US , and in fact the world over, has once again covered itself with shame.
The massive relief effort to help the Haitians has been undertaken largely by whites, Hispanics from South American countries, Israel, and there was even assistance form one Arab country, Jordan.
Where was the assistance form the African countries? Where is the assistance form the black community in America?
Al Sharpton can manufacture racist charges out of whole cloth, as he usually does , and exponentially more blacks will show at that rally then showed up to assist the Haitian community. Come to think of it I saw not a single rally from the black community to assist Haiti. Not a single concert for charity or million man march or anything . Heck even a rap concert and subsequent inevitable riot and looting would have been something . Alas, nada!
The news outlets ran story after story of white couples and church groups going to Haiti to help out or to even adopt children but I really saw no blacks doing that, did you?
How many black churches have organized such efforts? I sure didn’t see any and if there are one or two there sure as heck weren’t and aren’t enough.
The tragedy in Haiti gave the world a chance to shine and most did . The black community in America and the world over did not , on the contrary it covered itself with shame.
