Greece riots coming to a town near you , just as Obama wants

Whenever you hear talk about raising taxes on the rich or on corporations please keep in mind a very simple truth, capital is more mobile than labor.

What the heck does  that mean? Well, quite simply, it means that capital can hightail it out of town and seek greener pastures with lower taxes and can do that fast.  Maybe it won’t be as drastic as closing factories and offices and moving everything all at once,  but new factories and offices will instead be opened elsewhere. Can labor follow? Well no. First of all, there already is labor to be had wherever capital decides to relocate and second, and most important, labor simply cannot afford to move.  So while all that is required to move capital is a click or two of a button. To move labor is virtually impossible. Mass migration of laborers does occur occasionally when the knife has cut so deep that the choice is move or die, but it doesn’t happen often and it isn’t pretty.  Think about the Oklahoma dust bowl and the migration of farm labor to California. ( Maybe reread the Grapes of Wrath and then use Steinbeck’s great work to beat some sense into whichever imbecile politician touts “taxing the rich”.)

There are many studies and many statistics to show how fast taxes destroy a community’s ability to create wealth and jobs.  Do your own google search and see for yourself. For this post, I’m content to state that because of this chasmic disparity in mobility when you tax capital it, and it’s owners  move away and labor gets left behind. Taxing capital hurts labor more than it hurts capital. Furthermore, as capital skidaddles out of town and there are less wealthy people and less corporations to tax and tax revenues decline, labor finds itself  looking for a place to work. If there is one cosmic justice to this it is that this eventually  also affects the public employees – the very same ones who initially benefited from the high taxes imposed on capital.

We have seen this happen in Europe, in California, and in quite a few states here in the US, but let’s take a look at what I consider the best example . The east coast bastion of liberalism The crossroads  of the known universe. The beloved Empire State.  The great state of  New York.

New York’s Governor Paterson announced that he will need to lay off over 9000  government workers – this comes as a response to a judge’s decision that furloughing the workers is somehow against whatever contracts the unions have in place.

So how did we get here? How did we get to the point where the liberal governor of a very liberal state is forced to lay off almost ten thousand or more of the very voters that make up his base?

Well in one word, “taxes”. To elaborate , the “millionaire tax” and tax on corporations.

Here is the Wall Street Journal’s announcement that New Yorkers  just became the highest taxed people in America.  In “New York, Assembly Speaker (and de facto Governor) Sheldon Silver and other Democrats will impose a two percentage point “millionaire tax” on New Yorkers who earn more than $200,000 a year ($300,000 for couples). This will lift the top state tax rate to 8.97% and the New York City rate to 12.62%. Since capital gains and dividends are taxed as ordinary income, New York will impose the nation’s highest taxes on investment income — at a time when Wall Street is in jeopardy of losing its status as the world’s financial capital.” ( Source)

Of course you noticed that the so called millionaires are working couples  making  $150K each – some millionaires. This was in April of 2009.  Here is WCBS.com  reporter Marcia Kramer waxing approvingly about how the millionaire tax could fund NYC mass transit. “Assembly Democrats do have a plan to raise money for mass transit: tax the rich.” Source

Don’t fault the New York politicians.  After all, experience told them that it would all be just fine. It’s not like the Census bureau reported that New York state lost over 1.7 million residents over the past decade – the most of any state. Oh wait that’s exactly what happened. Sure, the exodus didn’t happen overnight, but you know what,  the drop in revenues sure did!

By October of 2009 NY state tax revenues were off by 36% ! A befuddled Governor Paterson declared on CNN “‘We added personal income tax, which we thought would make the falloff 10 percent to 15 percent,’ Paterson, a Democrat, said on CNBC today, referring to $5.2 billion in new or increased taxes. ‘This is what is so frustrating. It’s still 36 percent, meaning our revenues fell more in 2009 than they did in 2008.‘” (source)   I am pretty sure that this might be the first time that an elected and  serving liberal politician admitted that raising income tax did not increase revenues .  No wonder Obama hates the guy. Things would go from bad to worse to possible “anarchy” – not my words but Paterson’s.

Here is the same WCBS.com  reporter Marcia Kramer quoting  NY State Governor Paterson  on the effects of a state government shut down “‘No one knows the full ramifications of a government shutdown,’ said Paterson. ‘It would create unimaginable chaos around the state and the greater metropolitan areas.’”

In a few short months, New York’s millionaire tax, coupled with the Wall Street slow down, have managed to bring the state to the edge of chaos and anarchy- just like Greece experienced for very similar reasons.

It is a real world hard lesson in the properties, characteristics and relationship between capital, labor and government. Capital will go where it is most welcomed and it will leave once it is abused with excessive taxes. Labor cannot do that, at least not as easily as capital can.  Labor will remain behind, just as it did in NY as the “millionaires” and their capital left and now labor is threatened with becoming unemployed.  Obama will soon propose to do this nationwide through a combination of higher taxes, allowing  the Bush tax cuts to expire, imposing new taxes on corporations etc. etc. Are you ready to move along with the capital or will you stay behind with labor…

Or better yet – will we all get together and tell Obama that he has to stop destroying the country and if he doesn’t listen we impeach him!

Let’s do instead that which we do best and that is focus on the things that no one has the brains or balls to mention. Understand that in the second act – and there will, I’m afraid,  be a lot more acts – Turkey may be sending its navy to escort the next flotilla.  So far, Turkey has  said just that and they haven’t retracted their statement.  That’s where we stand.

Will the Turkish Navy run the Israeli blockade?  Only God has the answer at this time, but we too may know it soon enough.
Ask yourself this -  why is Turkey, a NATO ally and for the past two decades or so a docile mostly peaceful nation, suddenly displaying such belligerence? Is this happening in a vacuum?

All of a sudden we begin to understand why Turkey was the first foreign country Obama visited after being inaugurated. We have his own words to describe how Obama regards Turkey:  “I’m trying to make a statement about the importance of Turkey” .  That was Obama’s first trip. He went to pay homage to the capital of the country that  was once the last great Caliphate and stress how important he thought this was to the world. Our allies, those who bled and fought along side our own troops in battles too many to mention and whose cultures and traditions are so close to our own would have to wait…And Israel, well,  is still waiting.

Let’s recap some very obvious events. Obama wouldn’t give Netanyahu the time of day when the latter visited the White House.  And worse, Obama subjected him to humiliation and ridicule.

OK, so that alone is as strong a signal as possible to the muslim world that the US is,  at best,  not in a hurry to help Israel and at worst, well…

We also have another issue to contend with, and that is that Obama’s rabid dog , the dead fish wielding Rahm Emmanuel is now in Israel. One can safely assume that he is not there to apologize to Netanyahu and prop the Likud party. On the contrary, an educated and probable guess is to assume that Rahm is there to undermine Nentenyahu, prop up the liberals in the rejected  Labor Party (note please that the Israel Labor Party is a prominent member of the Socialist International and an observer member of the Party of European Socialists – just like Obama only more overt).

Now, lest you think that I am reading too much into Rahm’s visit to Israel, let me remind you that  the flotilla was organized by the Free Gaza Movement.

The Free Gaza Movement’s top activists include “William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn as well as Jodie Evans, the leader of the radical activist organization Code Pink.”

As we all know, the terrorists “Ayers and Dohrn were close associates for years with President Obama, while Evans [when not acting as the leader of the radical activist group Code Pink]  was also a fundraiser and financial bundler for Obama’s presidential campaign.” (source)

So now we have three factors that need to be considered: firs, Obama’s humiliation of Netenyahu; second, Rahm Emanuel’s presence in Israel; lastly, the involvement of Obama’s friends and associates, and of course convicted terrorists, in the organization behind the event…but of course this didn’t happen while Obama was in the pews.

It’s also worth noting that there were other boats in the flotilla and two of them were Greek boats sponsored by the Greek organization “Boats for Gaza”.  The Greek government, well,  you watch the news and you know what they are.  The current majority party in the Greek parliament is the Panhelennic Socialist Movement, Greece’s first socialist party (Greece had  a communist party for a long time).  And yes the Pahnhelenistic Socialist Movement is, of course, part of the Socialist International.  In fact, the 2008 Socialist International Summit took place in Athens and in the following election the Panhelenic Socialist Movement won its most resounding victory  – a few months later there is rioting, looting and death in the streets of Athens.

There’s more.  Ireland has just announced that it too will send a ship of  “supplies” under an Irish pavilion to aid the terrorist controlled Gaza strip. The current, and currently in trouble, party in power in Ireland is Fianna Fáil (a possible translation would be Irish Warriors). Fianna Fáil is also a member of the European parliament’s  Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe and of the  European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party.

Let’s see how all this develops and see how many other other socialists align themselves against Israel.  I, for one, fully expect Chavez to come on board and of course the Russians.

The irony, and perhaps the karma, of Israel being so attacked by socialists and the left is lost on no one.  After all, the leading roles that Jews played in leftist movements, ideology and philosophy  is well known and documented.  Rahm Emmanuel himself is a Jew and and a socialist  as is his brother and his father , the latter a Marxist. All that aside, I am very worried for Israel and for the world.

This unholy demonic gathering of socialists is incredibly troublesome for it is not the first time socialists and fascists started out by allying themselves against Jews and ended up setting the world ablaze.

It seems that the media, FOX included, has a packaged response to every  terrorist act perpetrated by anyone except for the once every few decades occasion when such an act is perpetrated by a white Christian.

That package always includes a torrent of “explanations”, rationalizations, examinations, introspection, “the healing process”  and analysis that invariably leads to the same conclusion; somehow or other  its the white Christians’ fault.

This time however  we’ve reached a new low . For the first time, the Army, the White House, the media, and the Muslim community aren’t even laying blame on “extremists”.  No.  We won’t even talk about Islam here …except to say that this very poor excuse for a human being and absolute disgrace to the medical community set out on a pre-meditated murderous rampage because he may have been taunted for being a Muslim.

First of all, this guy,  a psychiatrist, a grown man, couldn’t deal with a little name calling?  Or even a lot of name calling?

As a very well trained psychiatrist -at our expense-  this animal MUST be held to a higher standard…but no one is willing to do that because he’s a Muslim.  No.  We hold Muslims to a lower standard.

It is assumed, by the MSM, that you are mentally, emotionally, and psychologically less stable than non-Muslims.

Moreover, you are presumed to be less civilized.  As such, society makes excuses for you similarly to the way it makes excuses for the acts of children and retards. Lets  forget that not long ago the left, in America as well as in Europe, argued that Iraq will be a failure becasue Muslim Arabs are not capable of democracy

Secondly, we are to believe that this Muslim’s murderous rampage on an Army base is explainable and even excusable (isn’t that why we use excuses, to excuse someone’s heinous acts?) because he “felt harrassed” for being a Muslim?

That is surreal!  We live in a country where it is not only socially acceptable, but encouraged to malign Christianity over dinner.  In the press.  In the schoolyard.  In the classroom.  Yes, we teach  intolerance of Christianity in this country.  Now, that considered, remind meo f the last time a Christian went on a murderous rampage because he was taunted for being a Christian.

I don’t need time to understand this man’s actions.  He shot the same people to whom not long ago he referred to as brothers. Displaying the characteristic cowardice of Islamist suicidal terrorists , he shot,  in the back, the very same people who in a few short weeks would have gone in harm’s way risking their lives to protect his. He did this becasue is a Muslim.

.Islam is at war with anything and everyone not Islamic.  This was a pure act of terrorism.  This man is not an extremist.  He is a Muslim!

First Obama declined to send in more troops ion Afghanistan as requested by the commanders on the ground.

Second Obama  is unilaterally dismantling the missile shield in Europe.

What do those things have in common? Putin and his control over the  supply lines to our troops in Afghanistan.

The WHO claims that the US health care is ranked number 37 in the world.

Nothing can be furtheer fromt he truth. US Healthcare is overall, the best in the world, and it is that  by order of magnitudes ,  compared to any other  similarly  sized nation .

Here are the chief points used by the WHO to continue to promote their  bull shit.

1) Infant Mortality Rate. The WHO claims that US infant mortality rate is among the highest for developed nations. That’s the first in a a long list of bold faced lies that we will expose. I posted at length on that one here

2) Average Life Expectancy There is no way to calculate what effect health care has on the average life expectancy  in any country using the WHO matrix. The reason for that is becasue the WHO also, conveniently, ads death from non natural causes into its calculations.

The US ranks number one in car accident fatalities worldwide.

In no other country in the world is driving a car as affordable as in the US that’s why we have more drivers and more driver  miles per year that any other country and that’s why we have more accidents. Also compared to say Germany our Driver License tests are a joke. Should we reform health-care for that reason?

The WHO also factors combat KIA in their life expectancy formula.

That’s really a despicable move considering that our trauma medicine, especially for combat wounds has reached levels undreamed of, much less matched, in any other country in the world.  US Military men and women are now able to survive wounds that would have been fatal just 10 or even 5  years prior to the Iraq war! Should we  reform all that and revert to what we had before?

Lets get tot the nitty gritty of health care. Here is the reality of survival rates for the most common cancers and heart disease in the US vs Europe and Canada, the two health care systems that the Obamunists so often tout!

Overall Cancer Survival

As the chart below  shows Europe’s survival rates are much lower than in the US, where 66.3 per cent of men and 62.9 per cent of women survive for five years, compared with 47.3 per cent of European men and 55.8 per cent of women. Source

Brest Cancer

Overall, five-year relative breast cancer survival was higher in North America at 80% or greater compared with Europe, where survival was mostly in the 70% to 79% range. Source

Colon Cancer

While the overall five-year survival for colon cancer in America is 62%, it’s 43% in Europe. Source

Bladder, Prostate, Uterine, Lung, Thyroid, and Malignant Melanoma

The World Health Organization  themselves and the British medical journal Lancet, admit that  five-year survival rates for 13 of 16 types of cancer (including bladder, prostate, breast, uterine, lung, thyroid, and malignant melanoma) are consistently higher for patients in the United States than for Europeans.  These figures report statistics for all Americans, not only those with private insurance.

“British citizens suffering from lung cancer are half as likely to survive for five years compared with Americans diagnosed with the disease.”

The American survival rate for leukemia is almost 50% while the European rate is significantly lower, just 35%. Esophageal carcinoma is often deadly, but compared with their European counterparts, American patients are more than twice as likely to survive the disease for five years. Source

Age-standardized death rates in central and eastern European countries are four to five times greater than the rates in the United States and are increasing.² Source

Hear disease and treatment

“Mortality data for 23 105 US and 2898 Canadian patients enrolled in GUSTO-I were obtained from national mortality databases. Median follow-up was 5.46 years in the US and 5.33 years in the Canadian cohort. Five-year mortality rate was 19.6% among US and 21.4% among Canadian patients (P=0.02). After baseline adjustment, enrollment in Canada was associated with a higher hazard of death (1.17; 95% confidence interval, 1.07 to 1.28, P=0.001). Revascularization rates during the index hospitalization in the United States were almost 3 times those in Canada: 30.5% versus 11.4% for angioplasty and 13.1% versus 4.0% for bypass surgery (P<0.01 for both). These results were confirmed in a propensity-matched analysis.

-Our results suggest, for the first time, that the more conservative pattern of care with regard to early revascularization in Canada for ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction may have a detrimental effect on long-term survival. Our results have important policy implications for cardiac care in countries and healthcare systems wherein use of invasive procedures is similarly conservative.” Source

The reasons that the WHO rank US health care so low has little or nothing to do with actual health care but only with the propagation of dictatorial left wing agendas. The same agendas that Obama wants to promote.

In this he joins a growing chorus of administration economists who echo the same sentiments.

I agree and as it is evident this recession was nothing but run of the mill recession aggravated and manipulated by the forces, left wing and otherwise from the US, Middle East and Europe ,  and China, who had a direct interest in the election of Hussein Obama and the destruction our country.  My evidence is a simple as it is real. The banks returned the TARP funds and are posting record earnings, end of story!

Also yesterday Tim Geithner, the smartest man in the world who can’t figure out -or voluntarily pay – his taxes mentioned that once the recession is over the government will have to “pay down the deficit” and “make some though choices”. Understand please that when yentas like Geithner talk about the government making though choices they are talking about the difficulty that elected politicians will have explaining the further tax increase that await the middle class.  Yes you!

Now here is the how we fight back! Apparently and by Hussein Obama’s own admission only about 10% of the Stimuls funds have been distributed and probably only a fraction of that has been used. The rest of it is not due to be spent until  2010, coincidentally just prior the the election!

If as the Obamunists say the recession is over and we have to raise taxes, why not give the much maligned white middle class a break, not spend the stimulus plan to fund  ACORN activism . Tell Hussein Obama to give the damn money back!

I’m watching the videos streaming from Iran and I can’t help but think back to the most monumental manifestation of humanity’s natural need and love of freedom, the fall of the USSR and the dismantling of the Iron Curtain.

Least you forgot and the ‘drivel by media” certainly hopes that you did forget and are doing all possible that those who don’t know never will,  here are some videos of those revolutions . The look and feel of what’s happening now in Iran is identical to what occurred back then. I have to tell you that when you see this many people in the street the end game is the same. Change will be inevitable, whether its in Russia in the thirties, US in the sixties, Europe and China in the late eighties  the result is the same. The status quo will not last long.

I have no idea what Iran will look like five years from now,  or whether or not it will be a nation friendly to the US , no one does,  but I do believe that it will look very different than it does today. The change may be as immediate and evident  as the Bolshevik takeover or the overthrow of the same  some fifty years later  Its possible that it may take on a more evolutionary form such as modern day China or morph into a long term erosion such as that conducted by the left in the US since the sixties.  The mullahs would do well to understand this reality and facilitate a peaceful transition but I really doubt that that  will be the case . In this new world , the view that America is part of what has gone wrong in our world, rather than a force to help make it right, has become all too common and its about damn time. Michelle and I knew this a long time ago as did my mother and father (as best as we can figure)

In America, there are voices that deride and deny the importance of Christianity’s role  role in our security and our future. They are of course  right. Both views miss the truth — that Europeans today are truly seeking socialism on the way to communism  just as I am doing in  America.  The military and the bases built in the last century to defend the security of this continent, and the world I will soon use  to sacrifice the freedom of Amerika and soon the the globe.

This is the moment when we must defeat freedom and dry up the well of extremism that supports it. This threat is real and we cannot shrink from our responsibility to combat it. If they could create NATO to face down the Soviet Union, then we can join in a new and global partnership to dismantle the networks that have struck in so many cities in Amerika under the guise of Tea Parties. If we could win a battle of ideas against the capitalists we can stand with the vast majority of Muslims who reject the extremism of freedom that leads to hate instead of hope.

People of Normandy — and people of the world — the scale of our challenge is great. The road ahead will be long. But I come before you to say that we are heirs to a struggle for freedom. We are a people of improbable hope. I got this in my e-mail, maybe you did too. Of course I was skeptical and it seems I was right to be as this is an urban myth. Rooney never said this and I am not sure that he is even capable of thinking this, after all he works for CBS and the piece is an exercise in common. I don’t think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.
We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

Did you know that there are more than 30 other countries with troops in Iraq? The Associated Press gives the numbers:

Albania — 71 non-combat troops in northern Iraq.
Azerbaijan — 150 troops for law enforcement and protection of religious and historic monuments in Iraq.
Bulgaria — 485 troops patrolling Karbala, south of Baghdad. An additional 289 are to be sent.
Central America and the Caribbean:

Dominican Republic (300 troops), El Salvador (360), Honduras (360) and Nicaragua (120) are assisting a Spanish-led brigade in south-central Iraq.

Czech Republic — 296 troops and three civilians running a field hospital in Basra, and a small detachment of military police.
Denmark — 406 troops, including light infantry, medics and military police. An additional 90 soldiers are being sent.
Georgia — 69 troops, including 34 special forces soldiers, 15 engineers and 20 medics.
Estonia — 55 troops.
Hungary — 300 transportation troops.
Italy — 3,000 troops.
Japan — Delays a decision Thursday on sending troops to Iraq, citing security concerns after a surge in anti-coalition violence.
Kazakhstan — 27 troops.
Latvia — 106 troops.
Lithuania — 90 troops.

The United States is in discussions with more than a dozen other countries about providing troops.

Update 11-15-03 7:30AM CST: It seems the Associated Press left out two very important countries that have troops in Iraq.

1. Australia — 850 troops in the theater with 250 in Iraq. Thanks to Sean for the information.
