On Friday Rush Limbaugh’s childish attempt to influence the South Carolina primary voting against Donald Trump reached new levels of talking head “bullshiterry.” Now granted, unlike Glen Speck, Rush makes no claim to magic underwear – none that we know off- so he is not given to the chicanery of the aforementioned  former FOX news host, none the less Rush’s treachery is just as despicable perhaps more so for it’s transparent veil of subtlety.

The issue, which Rush thinks you are too stupid to understand, is whether or not there is evidence that Trump condemned the Iraq war in the weeks prior to the war or if he only said it just after the war started.

Rush just casually mentioned that “apparently Mr. Trump is saying (and you probably heard it) that he opposed the war in Iraq always forever, and people in the media said, “That’s great, but we can’t find any quotes. We can’t find any evidence of you saying that.”

What a bunch a bull shit!

The issue has never been that Trump was against the Iraq war, anyone with even a passing interest in current events is by now familiar with the endless number of youtube videos and clips showing Trump condemning the Iraq War in no uncertain terms. The most obvious Trump condemnation of the Iraq was on Joe Scarborough’s former show Scarborough Country, barely a few months after the war began when 60% of Americans , including your truly, supported the effort.

(It’s very surprising that Rush doesn’t know this, maybe senility is creeping in.)

The issue, which Rush thinks you are too stupid to understand, is whether or not there is evidence that Trump condemned the Iraq war in the weeks prior to the war or if he only condemned it just after the war started. Looking back now Trump was right and Rush, who could barely contained his joy for anything W did, was dead wrong.

Rush Limbaugh lying about Donald Trump's record on Iraq war Just a couple of weeks ago Rush reached the apogee of yellow journalism when he declared “I don’t know what [football] game he’s [Trump] is talking about, but he’s wrong.” Well OK then Rush great reporting!

It’s interesting to note, after reading the relevant paragraph that Rush himself seems embarrassed by his own BS and veers off on some barely comprehensible tangent about  Arnold Schwarzenegger winning the Gulf War or some other such nonsense.

This latest baseless attack on Trump shows how  Rush continues to be a exposed as a shill for the establishments and as a liar when it suits his needs. Rush can ill afford such drastic continued errosion to his reputation. Below is the transcript

” Because apparently Mr. Trump is saying (and you probably heard it) that he opposed the war in Iraq always forever, and people in the media said, “That’s great, but we can’t find any quotes. We can’t find any evidence of you saying that.” Trump said, “That’s okay, you shouldn’t. I wasn’t in politics back then. I was in business. I’m a businessman back then. I wasn’t being quoted for things I said as a businessman. Of course you wouldn’t. But I just want to tell you: I opposed the Iraq war.” But somebody found a tape of Trump on Howard Stern back in 2002.

Stern said to Trump, “Are you in favor of invading Iraq?” and Trump said, “Yeah, I guess so. I wish the first time it was done correctly.” Which is an excellent point, by the way. If… do you heard what happened in Gulf War One? We won that war in 2-1/2 days. That was the Arnold Schwarzenegger — I’m sorry, the Norman Schwarzkopf victory. You remember what happened with that? We had the Iraqi Army on the run. They were in full retreat. The Republican Guard and the “elite” troops, they were on their way back to Baghdad.

Schwarzkopf wanted to wipe them out. He just wanted to end it. Go all the way back to Baghdad, get Saddam, and be done with Iraq. Colin Powell said, “No. No, no, Mr. President, Mr. Bush. Don’t do it! You will look like you are using excessive force, unnecessary force. The war is over.”
