They did what no other ship’s crew did in a many many years. They confronted the pirates which boarded their ship and made them withdraw in a life raft! These men were unarmed, maybe they had makeshift weapons but certainly not firearms and they confronted and defeated armed to the teeth, probably high on khat Muslim terrorist killers. Please understand that theses were the same kind of Muslim terrorists that fought tooth and nail to the death with our super elite Detachment Delta and the Army Rangers in Mogadishu during the famous Blackhawk Down engagement.
The entire crew of the Mersk Alabama are heroes of the highest order and it makes us proud that our country has such men. I wish that I could post their names so we can all honor them but for now we have to settle for pictures. I am sure that we’ll know them soon enough.
