Gingrich Amnesty PlanThis is what the other republicans should pound home!

Newt Gingrich brings to our living ro0ms the worst kind of reality TV. Sure it’s gripping and sure you get drawn in, but what gets you so involved are the palpable hypocrisy and lies.  Sure he’s very smart, but no one has yet convinced me that a crooked politician, albeit a very smart one, is what the country needs at this point.

Three  dimensional television  has nothing on Newt.  He can actually reach out from the TV and make your skin crawl with his lies. The most obvious and perverse of these is his convoluted Amnesty Plan.

Despite Newt’s desperate attempts to cloak this in a veil of states rights over federal government or church and religion and community – as if Newt ever gave a damn about these things –  most Americans see the perfidy of this proposal and recognize it for what it is – AMNESTY!

What makes it even worse is that most Americans, including Newt’s debate opponents, don’t realize just how disastrous the effects of this program will be.

Newt Gingrich  claims there are 12 million illegal aliens in the country. That number is an arbitrary number and itself a lie. Any basic math will show that  the real number is a lot closer to 20 million.

If we are very very kind to the Newt Gingrich program and assume that he will allow only half of these to remain in the country, that would give us 10 million people.

HERE IS WHERE IT GETS SCARY

All these people would immediately become permanent residents and will immediately be eligible for the family Reunification Act.

The Family Reunification Act is the primary means of legal immigration to the United states of America.

The average size of households in Mexico, as near as anyone can tell, is 4 people per household and it’s pretty much the same throughout South America.  Studies show that households of illegal immigrants skyrocket to 7 people per households.

Family reunification in the United States is the primary criterion for immigration to the United States, and it is governed by the terms of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended.[2] Historically, the emphasis on family reunification in American immigration law began in that 1965 act by allotting 74% of all new immigrants allowed into the United States to family reunification visas. Those included, in descending preference, unmarried adult children of U.S. citizens (20%), spouses and unmarried children of permanent resident aliens (20%), married children of U.S. citizens (10%), and brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens over age 21 (24%).[3]

Citizens and permanent residents of the United States may sponsor relatives for immigration to the United States in a variety of ways. Citizens of any age may sponsor their heterosexual spouses and their children, but only citizens who have reached the age of 21 may sponsor siblings and parents.( From Wikipedia)

The math is easy.  Newt Gingrich would mint 10 million new permanent citizens in one fell swoop and those 10 million would bring in say an average of 5 people each, giving us an instant 50 million new immigrants.

Can you imagine the strain on our infrastructure and support systems under that kind of  influx of immigrants?

Furthermore, as soon as those new permanent residents get their legal status, the black market will flourish. The size of the average household would miraculously grow to God only knows what , maybe 8, 9 , 10 people per household?

Even now there are reports that arranged marriages – arranged to bring foreigners into the country – can go for upwards of $10,000.  Sure the price would probably go down, but the number of “adoptions”  or  marriages and just newly found relatives would be enormous. Who’s going to challenge that? We can’t even keep track of the current illeglas.  How are we going to keep track of who is related to whom when we have five or ten times more of them?
The Newt Gingrich Amnesty Plan is a disaster for America and so would a Gingrich presidency

  1. In every debate, Newt has consistently talked about a small subset of people who have been here 25 or more years, have established families, work, pay taxes, and have been productive individuals. He wants to establish a red card program based on what was done after World War II, that is like a permanent resident card. A person who has been here 25 or more years is allowed to remain but they are not a citizen and cannot vote. If they want to become a citizen, then they would have to go through a naturalization process.

He is not talking about blanket amnesty nor shipping everyone back across the border whose ancestor came here illegally.

In our legal system, every crime, except a capitol crime loike murder, has a Statute of Limitation – a length of time within which a person can be prosecuted for a crime they committed. I see nothing wrong with establishing a Statute of Limitation for illegal immigration – especially one that is 25 years in length.

    1. Remind us again of a single Government program that remained as intended. Evey person that will be given legal status will be allowed to apply for family reintegration and bring in relatives. Further more the “law” will then be changed to give them citizenship because they’ve been here for 27 years or 28 or whatever. No moral society can survive by rewarding illegal behavior.
