In what is quickly turning out to be the cluster f-k of the millennium – that would be the Obama Care plan- heart specialists on Monday filed suit against Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius . The Cariologists are trying to stop Medicare fee cuts for routine office-conducted detection procedures such as nuclear stress tests and echocardiograms. We can only woder if this is what Obama means by preventive care, if you don’t know that you have it it will go away.

I am glad that physcians are finally stepping up! These are the real doctors not the ones that are supposedly backed by the AMA. I work for a physician that owns Imaging Centers in Texas and have looked at our reimbursement rates for 2010, for our area in Texas, we are going to take 21.5% cut in reimbursement rates. This not only affects our Medicare payments but it affects the commercial payors also. Our rates are based off of the current year Medicare fees plus. For example, Aetna would pay at 125% of Medicare.
This sucks for all of us. Some more than others b/c reimbursement changes based on geographic area.
I couldn’t agree with you more! There are so many things that we could do to lower health care costs and instead we pass a bill that will, do nothing but increase the costs and provide less care! Not a single damn thing that could be easily implemented, such as drug re-importation or tort reform or allowing companies to provide insurance across state borders is even addressed in this train wreck of a bill.
How can they justify cutting out payments for imaging and for mammograms and with a straight face say that thy are promoting preventive care? This is the same kind of lies I remember hearing in school elementary school growing up in a formerly communist regime. The exact same lies!
